Master of Communications Management 2008:
Advanced Level Capacity Building Programme
The University of Strathclyde offers the Masters in Communications Management, more commonly known as the MCM (the MBA for the telecommunications industry). It is a highly respected degree targeted to an international market. The MCM is a fulltime course, taught on campus, which is designed to address the managerial skills required by those working in the telecommunications sector. Full scholarships for fees and living expenses are available.
Course Structure
The course comprises 6 core modules and 8 elective modules (of which students choose three). Students also have to satisfactorily complete a project. The project runs for a 3-4 month period from September.

Scholarships
Full scholarships covering all fees, travel expenses to and from the UK and a monthly allowance payable February to December.
Course Length
The MCM course runs over a full calendar year from January to December inclusive. The first month involves study in your home country, followed by 11 months full-time study at the University of Strathclyde. The induction week will be the first full week of February 2007.
Entry Requirements
Proposed candidates for the MCM course need to demonstrate excellence in two areas. Firstly, the individual must possess a good Honours degree (or its equivalent), candidates will be considered from any discipline. Secondly, the individual is required to have worked within the telecommunications industry for a minimum of four years. Normally candidates should also have English proficiency to 6.5 IELTS or equivalent.
Application Process
Entry is highly competitive and the selection process rigorous. For a scholarship place, early application is always recommended. Recruitment is already under way for 2008 and applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Even when scholarship funding is not provided by the Chevening scheme the University will accept students providing that they satisfy the academic entry requirements and have evidence of being able to fund their studies in the UK.

Scholarships will only be considered for the following countries – the FCO will not consider any country other than those listed; a maximum of one candidate only from those countries underlined.
